How to Make a Strapless Snowboard
The strapless snowboard is a relatively new configuration of board in which the binding straps of the boot clamps are removed, leaving you with only the highback against which to brace yourself while riding. This arrangement allows for a far greater degree of freedom of movement and agility at the cost of a less secure hold for your boots. If you have a defective binding strap in one of your boot clamps and want to save money on a replacement, you may want to try a strapless setup.
Things You'll Need
- Heavy-duty scissors
- Screwdriver
Instructions
-
-
1
Unscrew the boot clamps from the board. Be sure to take note of the direction in which they are mounted.
-
2
Cut through the two binding straps at all points where they are connected to the body of the boot clamp using heavy-duty scissors. Be very careful not to damage the body.
-
3
Unscrew the screws holding the hardware of the binding straps in place if the boot clamps contain any.
-
4
Reattach the boot clamps to the board in the same fashion that they were attached previously to complete your conversion. Make sure each screw is firmly and securely tightened into place, as the body of the clamps and the two highbacks will now be the only things holding your feet in place.
