How to Make Snowboard Stomp Pads

Many snowboarders, especially beginners, tend to fall when coming off the ski lift. This is partly because the back foot must be dislodged from the binding to get up and off of the lift. Stomp pads provide traction in between the bindings so that your snow boot has something to grip onto for added control and balance.

Instructions

    • 1

Trace the shape of your foam pad using a pencil. Be creative and make any shape and size you like, just make sure it fits the width of your snowboard. The stomp pad should also be large and wide enough to step on to provide adequate traction.

Follow your trace design and cut the foam pad using a sharp utility knife.

Pick a spot in between your bindings for the stomp pad. Stand on your board with your front foot inside the binding, then place your back foot on the middle of the board just as if you are on the line to get on the ski lift. Clean the spot with a soapy towel and dry completely.

Remove the backing on the stomp pad and press the side with the adhesive on the snowboard. Place a stack of books or any heavy object on top of the stomp pad and leave it overnight.
