How to Mount K2 Auto Snowboard Bindings

Designed for high-end snowboarders, K2's national auto bindings get you in and out of bindings with a quick, single-ratchet adjustment. Ankle strap and toe strap tensioning is linked so tightening and release adjustment to the ankle strap also control the toe strap. One less ratchet to fumble with during entry and exit. Forward lean is easily modified by loosening a single bolt at the base of the highback. The footpad is canted slightly inward for more natural foot-plant on the board. K2 auto bindings mount to the standard 4x4 or 2x4 connecting points on the snowboard.

Determine your lead foot. Most people snowboard with their left foot forward, but some have a natural preference for the right.

    • 2

Decide on a stance width. The distance between your bindings is the stance width. In most cases, a width slightly more than the width of the shoulders is comfortable. Mark the mounting holes on the board which will provide the optimum stance width.

    • 3

Choose a stance angle. The stance angle is the angle at which the bindings intersect the longitudinal axis of the board. A typical stance angle is 15 degrees for the front foot and minus 3 degrees for the rear foot. Rotate the baseplate in each of the bindings so the correct degree mark on the baseplate aligns with the indicator mark.

Place the front binding on the board at the marked holes. Make sure the baseplate degree marks are correctly set. Insert the four mounting screws into the baseplate and tighten.

Place the rear binding on the board at the marked holes. Make sure the baseplate degree marks are correctly set. Insert the four mounting screws into the baseplate and tighten.
