How to Clean Snowboard Goggles Without Scratching

Scratched snowboard goggles reduce the effective range of vision and may become safety hazards. Most modern snowboard goggles use highly sensitive optic materials that when wet, become soft and susceptible to scratches. As such, it is important to follow some basic cleaning and care tips to keep the snowboard goggles free of lens scratches. In addition to the cleaning, it is important to store and handle the goggles properly to avoid scratching.

Dab any moisture on the inside of the goggles with a soft chamois. Do not rub or wipe, only dab. After the excess moisture is wiped, set the goggles in a dry area and let all moisture evaporate and dry.

Run the goggles under tap water and swirl the water around. Dab the water off and let them dry.

Wipe away the residue with the soft, dry chamois. Do not rub too vigorously. Go slow and wipe in a circle motion to remove the residue. Wipe both sides of the lenses.

Slide the goggles into a static and soft storage bag. Most goggles come with a bag like this, and the bag doubles as a dry and soft chamois. Make sure the goggles are totally dry before putting into storage.
