How to Mold a Heat Moldable Liner Snowboard Boot

Moldable snowboard boot liners allow a custom-fitted boot interior. Benefits include getting the padding in the right places to support your arch and heel. Many liners allow two to three heating and moldings, letting you mold the liners for at least two consecutive seasons. If you choose to heat and mold your liners at home, be prepared to stand in a static position for up to 30 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Oven -- a convection oven, if possible

Instructions

    • 1

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. Remove the top rack.

    • 2

Place the liners, without laces, on the sheet and foil, then place in the oven for 5 minutes. Do not overheat. When ready, the liners are puffy and the foam looks bubbly.

    • 3

Wear your normal snowboarding socks, pull the liners out of the oven and put them on. Tighten as normal.

    • 4

Step into the snowboard boots and secure the laces and straps. Stand in your boarding stance for 20 to 30 minutes, to let the foam cool and mold around your feet.
