How to Care for Snowboard Goggles

Between a snowboard, snowboarding pants, snowboarding jackets, goggles and chairlift tickets, snowboarding can become a very expensive sport or extracurricular activity. Make sure your equipment lasts a long time by caring for it properly. With normal wear and tear, you may find that your goggles won't hold up after several boarding seasons. But there are several things you can do to ensure your snowboard goggles stay in good condition during and in between boarding seasons.

Instructions

    • 1

Shake the goggles when you're finished with them to remove any snow that may have collected along the rim.

    • 2

Allow your goggles to air dry completely before cleaning.

    • 3

Apply several drops of eyeglass cleaner to the lenses -- check the instructions that came with your goggles to see if the manufacturer recommends a specific cleaner.

    • 4

Blot the lenses gently with an anti-fog cloth. Never wipe the goggles with an abrasive cloth -- like a paper towel, your snowboarding gloves or a rag -- as it can scratch and ruin your lenses.

    • 5

Place your goggles in the storage bag that came with your goggles when you're not using them. If you cannot find the storage bag, keep the goggles wrapped in a soft cloth to ensure they do not get scratched while being stored.
