Soccer Clubs in Savannah, Georgia

For residents of Savannah, Georgia, taking on a hobby or past skill like soccer is an opportunity to become more active within the community. Savannah/Chatham County is home to three recreational soccer clubs that strive to educate and entertain. All soccer clubs contain programs for a diverse age group, yet differ in their missions and goals.

  1. Savannah Celtic F.C.

    • Founded in 2006, this recreational soccer club was developed by two soccer enthusiasts from the United Kingdom. Its mission is to promote the favorability and competitiveness within soccer on a local level. It provides programs for all youth age groups, ranging from 6 to 19 years of age. Community outreach programs include Savannah Celtic's Youth Development Program developed in 2009, which increases education of soccer and soccer coaching. One of Savannah Celtic's major contributors and supporters is Glascow Celtic F.C., one of the largest soccer clubs in the world.

    Coastal Georgia Soccer Association

    • As a nonprofit organization that was created in 1991, the Coastal Georgia Soccer Association (CGSA) first opened its doors to more than 400 children. Its mission continues to be based on serving the soccer interests of the community and team age groups range from 4 to 19 years. CGSA serves as a regional leader for the growth of soccer in the Savannah area and has aided in establishing other organizations within the district. It contains more than 100 recreational teams and organizes 30 academy (select) teams.

    Savannah Soccer

    • Exclusively serving the adult community in the Savannah area, Savannah Soccer has organized year-round adult leagues since 2000. As of spring 2010, the club consisted of 51 adult teams in four separate divisions. Adult leagues and teams are categorized by women, men and co-ed. Savannah Soccer is also the creator and organizer of the Tybee Island Beach Soccer Tournament since 2007.
