Arsenal F.C.
-
One of London’s most successful soccer clubs, Arsenal F.C. has an impressive roster of achievements, including its string of wins in Premier League competition--49 games in a row, including the entirety of the 2003-2004 soccer season--a record which has not since been equalled. The club maintains a fierce rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur F.C., with matches between these two teams being particularly hotly contested.
The club was formed by a group of Scottish men based in Woolwich, London, who worked at the Arsenal munitions factory in 1886; since then, the club has incorporated these beginnings into its logo, which depicts a cannon to reflect the military-related origins of the side. Today, Arsenal F.C. plays their home matches at the Emirates Stadium.
