New Jersey Girls Private Soccer Clubs

New Jersey has a comprehensive youth soccer scene. Over 100,000 players are registered in the New Jersey youth soccer game under the governing body of US Youth Soccer. Most towns in New Jersey have a soccer club where girls soccer can be played, sometimes with volunteer coaches. New Jersey also has private girls soccer clubs, where members pay for training and a higher level of competition is usually present.

  1. TSF Academy

    • TSF Academy is based in Bergen County, New Jersey. TSF is a private soccer club with teams starting from age nine and going right up to an elite women's team that plays in the W-league. Teams aged from nine up to 13 practice weekly and enter a number of select tournaments in the summer. Teams aged 14 and older compete in the nationwide Super-Y League competition and practice twice a week. TSF Academy has a number of fully qualified staff from around the globe. The staff has included professional players from England and the United States. Players who have played girls soccer at TSF Academy include professional player Nikki Krzysik, of the Chicago Red Stars.

    Player Development Academy

    • Player Development Academy (PDA) is a private girls soccer club based in central New Jersey. PDA has soccer teams for girls from the age of eight up the ages of 19, where girls play in college showcase tournaments. PDA teams typically train twice a week, year round, and enter a range of tournaments alongside league play in the Jersey Area Girls Soccer (JAGS) soccer league. In 2010 the PDA coaching staff included Mike O'Neill, an assistant coach with Rutgers University. Girls who have played soccer at PDA have gone on to college careers at schools including Rutgers, Georgetown and West Virginia.

    Matchfit Chelsea FC Academy

    • Matchfit Chelsea FC Academy is a private girls soccer club and an official partner club of English soccer giant Chelsea FC. Matchfit Academy has girls soccer teams aged 11 up to age 23. Matchfit teams typically practice twice a week and play year round in a number of regional tournaments alongside league play. Matchfit Chelsea teams play in the prestigious US Development Academy league in the spring and fall. Teams play in the nationwide Super-Y league during the summer. In 2010 Matchfit Chelsea FC Academy coaching staff included Dave Back, an assistant coach at Rutgers University. Matchfit Chelsea FC also employs a college coordinator, to help older girls soccer players to play in college.
