How Do I Attach a Harris Bipod Adapter HB5?

Harris Bipods, manufactured by Harris Engineering Incorporated, are universal bipods designed to be attached to a wide range of rifles via the quick detachable sling swivel stud. For those rifles that do not come with a factory installed quick detachable sling swivel stud, various adapters are available. The HB5 adapter is designed for use in M4/M16 style rifles with the standard handguards. Installation of the HB5 adapter is quick and doesn't require any tools.

      Remove the bottom handguard from your M4/M16 rifle. Do this by grabbing the Delta Ring (spring loaded retention ring located to the rear of the handguards) and pulling it back toward the receiver. When you pull the ring completely back, the handguards can then be removed.

      Remove the detachable sling swivel from the HB5 adapter by loosening the retention knob located on the side of the adapter.

      Remove the rectangular washer from the adapter.

      Insert the adapter into one of the round cooling vent holes in the bottom handguard. The ideal position is the third hole from the front end of the handguard. Place the rectangular washer on the outside end of the adapter and reattach the handguards to the rifle.

      Attach your Harris Bipod to the adapter.
