How to Donate Soccer Gear

If you have been rummaging in your closets and discovered old soccer gear that you want to get rid of, you can donate it to a local organization. Soccer gear that is typically accepted for donation includes cleats, balls, jerseys and shorts, socks, ball bags, duffle bags, goalie gloves and training equipment. Regardless of what specific soccer gear you have, as long as it is in good condition you can donate it to a local organization or to a place that sends the equipment to underprivileged children overseas.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather up the soccer gear you want to donate and assess the condition of each item. Clean any items that are dirty. All donated items should be in good, clean condition. For example, if you have a clean soccer ball that does not hold air, it should not be donated as it is not in good condition.

Use the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback website to find local organizations that are in need of soccer gear donations. Other ways to donate are through Peace Passers, the Soccer Donation Project and Eurosport.

    • 3

Get your soccer gear to the organization that you have selected. Some places may have a drop off center for donations, while others may require you to mail in your donation. For example, Eurosport only accepts gear donations by mail to:

Passback Program Director - Steven Fear

      Eurosport: Fabled Soccer Traders

      431 US Hwy 70-A East

      Hillsborough, NC 27278

If you are using the Passback website to select an organization, use the contact details for the organization to inquire about its donation procedures.
