The Best Swim Camps in North Carolina

School is usually not the place kids want to be during the summer, but young swimmers in North Carolina might think differently about that, thanks to three universities in the state that offer summer swim camps. Camp participants can receive personalized instruction from top-level college coaches and student-athletes to help them improve their strokes and techniques.
  1. Carolina Swim Camp

    • The Carolina Swim Camp program is conducted by the University of North Carolina's head swimming coach. The camps, for youths ages 9 through 18, take place from June to July each year at the swimming complex at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Campers stay in the dormitories at the college and eat in the school cafeteria. Three mini-camps that are a part of the Carolina Swim Camp focus on swimming techniques like Starts and Turns, Freestyle and Backstroke, and Breaststroke and Butterfly. The camps, which last two days or one week, also allow campers to attend daily sessions without spending the night on campus. In addition to daily swimming instruction, campers may participate in social activities.
