Swim Camps in Florida

Swimming, a fun sport and life-saving skill, also provides an excellent low-impact aerobic workout. If you want to learn how to swim, or are looking to improve your performance, swim camps in Florida are ready for you.
  1. Peak Performance

    • The Peak Performance Swim Camp was founded by former Olympic coach Nick Baker in 1996. The swim camp teaches physical, technical and mental conditioning and offers camps in the spring, winter and fall months. Peak Performance offers three separate camps: the 10 and Under Mini Camp, the Elite Training Camp and the Advanced Training Camp.

      The 10 and Under Mini Camp is designed for children ages 7 to 10. Campers in the Advanced Training Camp must be at least 7 years old. Those who want to enter the Elite Training Camp must be at least 13 years old. Both the Advanced and Elite camps require swimmers to meet minimum swim ability requirements.

      The camps are offered as either day camps, extended day or overnight with prices ranging from $1,099 to $1,499. However, each camp has a set, nonrefundable deposit of $300 and a registration fee of $25.

    Pine Crest

    • Pine Crest offers camps in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Florida. Swimmers must be between the ages of 8 and 19 years old. The campers can attend any of the weeks during the seven-week summer camp period and are matched with college-aged counselors who have competitive swimming experience.

      The camps require a $100 registration fee for each application. The overnight camps range in cost from $675 for the first week to $4,725 for all seven weeks. The competitive day camp cost ranges from $475 for the first week to $3,325 for all seven weeks. Hotel accommodations are provided.

      Campers can also participate in laser tag, mall trips, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and bowling.

    The Race Club

    • The Race Club offers two camps in the Florida Keys: the Florida Keys Camps and the Team Training Camp.

      One session at the Keys Camps costs $150 and 10 sessions cost $1,045. A Dartfish stroke analysis is included in the camp cost. Dartfish is software used for video analysis. The Keys Camp is for individual swimmers.

      The Team Training Camp cost varies according to each team's needs. Coaches from all over can sign their teams up for the training camp. For example, the Tampa Bay Aquatics used the camp for extra training. Teams can stay in nearby hotels.

    Neal Studd

    • The Neal Studd Swim Camp at Florida Gulf Coast University welcomes swimmers who are at least 7 years old during a week-long summer camp. Campers can pay $200 for a half-day camp (8 a.m. to 11 a.m.), $375 for a day camp (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and $525 for a residential camp which is overnight. Swimmers can have private sessions from the coaches at a price of $40 for half an hour or $70 for a full hour.

      Every overnight camper receives his or her own room in the FGCU apartments. Overnight campers can also participate in beach volleyball, kayaking and movies as part of the evening activities. The staff to camper ratio is 1 to 10.
