  • 1/8-inch satin ribbon
  • 2-inch grosgrain ribbon
  • Barrettes
  • Scissors
  • Needle

      Cut 48 inches of grosgrain ribbon. Cut the ends at a 45-degree angle. Fold the ribbon back and forth every 6 inches until you have three loops and one tail on each side.

      Spread the loops of ribbon out until they are side by side, not on top of each other. Gather the ribbon together in the middle of the bow. You should have a round bow with three separate loops on each side.

      Sew through the gathered center of the bow to hold it in shape. Cut 10 pieces of the narrow ribbon, each 7 inches long, and tie a small overhand knot in each end. Sew the center of these ribbon pieces to the center of the bow.

      Cut a 5-inch piece of grosgrain ribbon and fold it in half lengthwise. Sew the end of this ribbon to the center of the bow. Put a dot of hot glue in the center of the top of the barrette. Put the bow on top of the barrette.

      Wrap the small piece of ribbon around the bow and the barrette. Turn under the end and sew it in place.
