Instructions

    • 1

Sketch out two outlines of the jersey top, remembering a basketball uniform's sleeveless style. One of these sketches will represent the front view of the uniform, and the other the back. Differentiate the two by drawing a large number in the center of back, and a smaller number in the center of the front view.

    • 2

Write the university name on the front view of the jersey above the small number, so it spans across the chest. If the university name is two words, place the first first word above the number and the second one below. If the name is more than two words long, an acronym will suffice -- such as UNLV for University of Nevada-Las Vegas -- with the number underneath the text.

    • 3

Fill in the uniform with the school's primary color, taking care to leave the numbers and letters on the uniform unshaded. Make the team's "road" jersey, for when it travels away from home, dark. The trim of the jersey can reflect the school's second or third colors, and should contrast the primary color.

    • 4

Repeat steps 1-2 for the team's home jersey, with the exception of making the letters and numbers the dark components of the jersey. White or a similar light shade dominates the home jersey.

    • 5

Shorts should follow the same design and color scheme for the home and away jerseys. Place the school's logo or image of the team mascot on the right leg of the shorts to subtly represent the university on the athlete's uniform.
