Football Fund Raising Ideas

When sports teams need money for equipment, travel expenses and uniforms, they have fund raisers. In order to make money while fund raising for your football team, you need to be dedicated and make sure that what you sell will net you a good profit.
  1. The Car Wash

    • An easy and exciting way to raise money is a car wash. Hold the car wash in a parking lot with permission from the lot's owner. You will get more cars to wash if you hold it near a popular location.

For supplies, you can use money that the team has made form the previous year, or everyone pitches in to buy everything needed. Once you have the space and supplies, set the date and make sure you put up fliers around town and inform people of where and when it will be held.

Get the whole team involved, including coaches and cheerleaders. Charge $5 per car for a wash and $10 for a wash and interior cleaning. The more people you have helping out, the more people you can draw in who are driving by.

    Candy and Bake Sale

    • Nothing says fund-raiser more than the sale of candy and baked goods. When people join the team, give them a box or two of candy to sell. Buying candy in bulk will ensure that you make a profit when you sell it for $1 or more. The profits go to the team's funds. As for baked goods, hold the sale at the school, a grocery store or at sporting events. Make sure you get permission to do this since it may take away from concession stand sales that the venue likely will have. Be sure to advertise that it is for your football fund-raiser and not for personal gain.

    Scratch and Win Cards

    • A popular fund-raising tool of recent years is scratch and win cards. You can make up to a 90 percent profit and spend close to nothing on the product you are selling. What it entails is a scratch-off booklet of coupons that you buy from a coupon booklet seller. When you approach someone to buy a booklet of coupons, scratch off the top cover to reveal the price. The purchaser receives the coupon booklet for that price and could win between 50 cents to $3. The coupons inside are usually worth about $40. You can purchase a packet of coupon books for around $400 and when all are sold, you've made between $1,500 and $2,000.
