Download Songs From Marching Bands
-
1
Download a media player such as Quicktime or RealPlayer if your computer doesn't already have one. If you want a music library interface along with your media player, you might try iTunes.
-
2
Try a subscription-based website such as emusic.com or free site such as Fightsongs.com (see Resources below). Emusic allows 25 free downloads when you sign up, which should be plenty to start your collection of marching band songs. Fightsongs.com allows you to play fight songs from many major colleges and universities. They are helpfully arranged by conference.
-
3
Click on the link for the song you want. It should bring up a new window in your browser and begin to play, using whatever media player you have set as your default. If you want to save the file to your desktop, go to the File menu of your browser and click on "Save Page As."
-
4
Select the folder in which you want to save the song on your computer's hard drive. You can simply save it to the desktop for now, but chances are you have a Music folder already set up on your computer.
-
5
Save the file as an MP3. The file name should end in ".MP3" if you've saved it correctly. Double-clicking on the file should bring up your MP3 player. If your player is iTunes, it will automatically add the file to your iTunes Music playlist and begin playing it.
-
6
Create a "Marching Band Songs" folder within your Music folder for easy identification later, especially if you plan to download a lot of marching band songs.
