Establish the budget by determining the amount each family will pay. Our cost was $20.00 per family which covered the cost for the players and coaching staff.

This may be the first trophy the players have ever received, make them say 'wow'. Don't settle for the ball and glove trophy design, it's small. There are several options that are 11 inches tall from base to top and are less expensive than the glove.

Our team had a manager, a coach and two assistant coaches. They received trophies too.

For the manager I selected a plaque with an inscription and space for the team's picture.

The coach's trophy was more expensive than the ones selected for the assistants, but less expensive than the plaque.

Call various trophy locations and request a group discount. Typically engraving is free up to a certain number of letters and includes the first & last name, team, and year. Engraving is also free for the plaque if you stay within the limit. You can say a lot with a few words.

The coaching staff also received certificates I created using greeting cards software. The certificates thanked them for a wonderful season and were in the team's colors.

Now for the Awards Ceremony! Our season ended immediately after the school year and many of the players were scheduled to take off for vacation. We decided to present the awards at the last game. No problem! I brought a folding cards table, a baseball tablecloth, and a box used for wine bottles to transport the trophies safely. We left everything in the van until the last inning to avoid distracting the players.

The team was shocked and the coaches surprised. My husband taped the event who happened to be one of the assistant coaches. My son was a player on the team and he had final approval for all of my decisions!
