How to Do a Cork 360

Although recreational snowboarders prefer manicured slopes, freestyle riders use terrain parks filled with launch ramps of various sizes. The launch ramp allows a snowboarder to execute aerial spins high above the ground. The cork 360 is an intermediate snowboarding trick. According to The New York Times' library of snowboarding tricks, the cork involves an off-axis spin. In contrast with normal spins, the underside of your snowboard should remain perpendicular to the ground during the off-axis 360 cork.

Bend your knees to compress your snowboarding stance as you approach the ramp. Shift your body weight onto the rear binding as you ascend the ramp. Extend your arms to avoid losing balance during the takeoff.

    • 2

Leap skyward as the nose of the snowboard slides over the summit of the ramp. Rotate your shoulders while turning your head in the direction of the spin. Lift your knees to increase your airtime.

    • 3

Lean sideways to initiate the off-axis spin. Grab the outer edge of the snowboard with your dominant hand to maintain control during the rotation. Lower your eyes to the ground as the snowboard completes the first 180-degree spin.

Release your grip on the snowboard as it completes the second rotation. Lean sideways until the underside of the snowboard is parallel to the ground. Bend your knees as the snowboard touches down on the snow.
