1
Purchase an old snowboard from your local outdoor shop or used-sporting-goods store. Loosen the mounting screws to remove the modern bindings from the snowboard deck. Place the underside of the snowboard deck onto a flat worktable.
-
2
Cut out two strips of leather that are 3 inches wide and 8 inches long. Align your first strip of leather over the mounting holes located toward the front of the snowboard. Insert two mounting screws through one end of the leather binding strap.
-
3
Tighten the screws in the corresponding mounting holes to secure the binding strap in position. Insert your feet into a pair of snowboard boots and tie the laces tightly. Place your lead foot adjacent to the binding strap.
-
4
Pull the leather strap across the middle of your snowboard boot. Insert two mounting screws through the opposing end of the leather strap. Tighten the screws in the mounting holes to ensure a snug yet comfortable fit.
-
5
Slide your boot backwards to remove it from your new binding straps. Cut off any excess leather to prevent your straps from flapping in the wind. Align your second strip of leather over the rear mounting holes and repeat the strap construction process.
