1
Type the guide in clear and concise language. Employ a large and bold font, which makes your guide easier to read. Explain the parts of the sled within the guide. Include images or diagrams of the sled to provide a visual display that coincides with your explanations. Keep explanations brief and informative.
-
2
Describe how each part of the sled works and how each aspect of the sled contributes to the function of the contraption. Discuss how hand breaks work, for example, by pulling up on each one simultaneously to slow the sled down. Explain how two riders may sit in the sled at the same time, for instance, while a third person gives the sled a push. Keep descriptions brief and relevant to each child's needs.
-
3
Note any and all safety rules that pertain to the sled and its users. Mention times of day that children are or are not permitted to operate the sled. Include protective rules such as no sledding down steep slopes, for example, or not steering the sled toward houses, trees or cars. Note any repercussions if rules are not followed.

Print the guide onto standard copy paper. Stack all pages one atop the other. Punch holes in the left side of the guide with a three-hole punch. Connect the pages together with brass fasteners. Keep the guide in a handy location, such as a kitchen drawer, or post it to a cork board for quick and easy access.
