My Rhino ATV Won't Start

Rhino all terrain vehicles (ATVs) are manufactured by Yamaha Motor Corporation. If you are having trouble getting your Rhino to start, there are a few simple steps that could quickly have your ATV running again.
  1. Battery

    • If your Rhino ATV won't start, it could be because of a faulty battery. Batteries fail as a result of many reasons, including a bad alternator or leaving the lights on without running the engine. Check the charge by connecting the battery to a voltmeter. If one isn't available, try jumping it off from another ATV.

    Fuel

    • If the battery is functioning normally, make sure the engine hasn't run out of fuel. If the ATV has a working fuel gauge, it should indicate how much, if any, fuel is left. If there is no gauge, check the tank manually or add a little fuel to be sure.

    Mechanic

    • If you have checked the battery and the fuel tank and your Rhino ATV still will not start, it may be time to consult the opinion of a professional small engine mechanic. Contact your Yamaha dealer for a recommendation on which shop to visit. You may have to make arrangements to tow the ATV or hire a mechanic willing to come and assess the problem on-site.
