Instructions

    • 1

Use the tape measure to find a location for the heavy bag that is at least 3 feet from any wall. Open the step ladder in this location.

    • 2

Use the stud finder to find a ceiling joist closest to the spot that the bag will be hung. Mark the edges of the ceiling joist with the pencil.

    • 3

Find the center of the ceiling joist by measuring between the marks indicating the joist edges. Mark an X in the center with the pencil.

    • 4

Drill a 2.5-inch-deep hole in the ceiling joist with the 15/64-inch drill bit.

    • 5

Lightly coat the eyebolt threads with construction adhesive, and screw the eyebolt into the joist. The pliers may be needed to screw in the last half inch of the eyebolt.

    • 6

Wait 30 minutes for the adhesive to harden.

    • 7

Stand on the ladder, and attach the bag’s hanging ring or straps to the S hook as an assistant lifts the bag.

    • 8

Adjust the chain or straps so that the bag's label or the "sweet spot" mark is at eye level. The bottom of a bag correctly hung will be approximately at knee level to the user.
