Instructions

  1. Power Doesn't Turn On

    • 1

Check that the treadmill is plugged into a single-outlet surge suppressor that is UL 1449, listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor. It should have a rating of 400 volts or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules.

    • 2

Verify that the surge suppressor is plugged into a properly grounded outlet. Consult an electrician if needed.

    • 3

Fully insert the magnetic safety key into the console.

    • 4

Check the circuit breaker, which is on the lower front of the frame near the power cord. If the circuit breaker switch sticks out, it has been tripped. Wait five minutes and press the switch back in.

    • 5

Check that the "On/off" switch is set to the "On" position. The switch is on the front frame near the power cord.

    Walking Belt Slows

    • 6

Lift the edge of the belt in the middle of the walking deck. It should lift 3 to 4 inches off the platform. If it does not lift at least this amount, the belt is too tight and needs to be loosened.

    • 7

Locate the rear roller adjustment bolts. These are at the back end of your RX 3000 treadmill; one bolt is on each side of the walking deck.

    • 8

Unplug the power cord and use an Allen wrench to turn each adjustment bolt counterclockwise 1/4 turn.

    • 9

Plug in the RX 3000 and run the belt for a few minutes without anybody on it. Retest the belt tension as you did in step 1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the belt is at the correct tension.

    Heart Rate Monitor Doesn't Work

    • 10

Move the chest strap slightly higher or lower and see if you get a reading.

    • 11

Wet the electrodes on the chest strap with saliva or water.

    • 12

Insert a coin into the slot on the back cover of the chest strap. Turn the cover counterclockwise.

    • 13

Pull the cover off the back of the chest strap.

    • 14

Remove the old battery and insert a new battery with the "+" facing up. Replace the battery cover and use the coin to turn it clockwise and lock it in place.

    Walking Belt is Off-Center

    • 15

Run the treadmill belt at a medium speed. Stand at the end of the machine and observe in which direction the belt shifts. Unplug the power cord.

    • 16

Use the Allen wrench to turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt 1/2 turn clockwise. This shifts the belt to the right.

    • 17

Use the Allen wrench to turn the left rear roller bolt 1/2 turn counterclockwise. This shifts the belt to the left.

    • 18

Plug in your RX 3000. Run the belt and observe it to see if it is centered. If not, repeat step 2 or 3 above.
