How to Use a Thera-Band

Thera-Bands are resistance tubes, resistance bands and other forms of elastic resistance that enable people to perform different exercises that increase strength, mobility, function and reduce joint pain. Thera-Bands are low-cost, extremely lightweight and very versatile tools for healthy physical rehabilitation or regular training sessions for senior citizens. Thera-Band makes bands with different levels of resistance that are indicated by the color of the band. Thera-Band also offers latex-free Thera-Bands for those allergic to latex. Instructions

  1. Lateral Raise

    • 1

      Stand on the elastic band or tubing.

      Grab hold of each end of the elastic with a different hand.

      Start with you arms at your side and position your palms forward.

    • 4

      Keep your elbows straight with arms extended and raise your hands to shoulder level.

      Lower your arms slowly and repeat.

    Reverse Flies

    • 6

      Grab each end of the elastic band or tubing with your hands.

    • 7

      Hold your arms out straight in front of your shoulders.

      Move your arms away from each other. Begin with your hands four inches apart in front of you and finish with your hands pointing in opposite directions.

      Slowly return your hands to the beginning position and repeat.
