Instructions

    • 1

Face forward with one leg ahead of the other. Bend the forward knee to nearly 90-degrees. The back leg is kept straight; both heels touch the floor. Keep your legs about shoulders' width apart (front stance).

    • 2

Keep your hands as fists with the palms facing up and pressed against the sides at waist level, your elbows back at a 45-degree angle.

    • 3

Punch out with the forward arm in a straight line, twisting the forearm over just before impact so that the palm is facing down. The striking surface is the first two knuckles (index and middle fingers) of the fist.

    • 4

Pull back your rear arm at the same time to increase the power of the punching arm.

    • 5

Retract your arm immediately after the strike to its original position, rotating the forearm until the fist is face up at your side.
