How to Attach a Gerber Shorty Knife

- Belt

Grip the handle of the Gerber Shorty knife in one hand. Hold the molded plastic sheath in the other hand, so the knife blade opening is easily accessible.

Slide the blunt blade tip of the Gerber Shorty into the sheath. Apply forward pressure on the Gerber knife to securely snap it into place in the sheath.

Turn the Gerber knife so the belt clip that is molded into the back of the knife sheath is turned toward the belt.

Open the free end of the belt clip slightly and slide over the top of the belt. Push down to securely attach the molded sheath to the belt.
Attach to Personal Floatation Device (PFD)

Locate the lash tab on the front of a personal floatation device (PFD). Identify the tab by the holes on either side of a short 1 1/2- to 2-inch-long strip of plastic or heavy canvas onto which accessories can be clipped.

Determine if the Gerber Shorty will be mounted in the lash tab with the handle up or down based, on personal preference.

Insert the Gerber Shorty into the molded plastic sheath until it snaps into place.

Spread the open end of the molded-in mounting clip on the back of the Shorty sheath. Slide the end of the mounting clip into the slot on one end of the lash tab. Push the the clip completely through the tab, so the end of the clip extends through the slot on the opposite end of the lash tab.
