How to Throw an Aerobie Orbiter

The boomerang guaranteed to "really come back," the Aerobie Orbiter is a triangle-shaped, high-performance throwing toy that will fly in a 90-diameter circle before returning to the thrower. Like all boomerangs, it takes some practice and acclimation to learn the correct angle at which to throw. With practice, you should be able to throw accurately enough that the Aerobie Orbiter lands right back in your hands just a few moments after you throw it.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the Orbiter in your left or right hand with the print-side facing you. The Aerobie Orbiter will work with right- or left-handed throwers, but is designed to be thrown with your right hand.

    • 2

Grip one of the Orbiter's three corner tips with your thumb and index (pointer) finger. Your index finger should be on the corner tip facing you.

    • 3

Hold the Orbiter high over your right shoulder, or over your left shoulder if you are left-handed.

    • 4

Tilt the Orbiter at a 30 degree angle (right from vertical). Do not inverse the angle if you are throwing with your left hand. Both right- and left-hand throws require 30 degrees to the right.

    • 5

Aim the Orbiter at the ground or grass approximately 30 yards in front of you.

    • 6

Bend back your arm to throw and let go of the Orbitor when it reaches your eye-level. When you let go, tightly press your index finger and thumb on the corner to give it a good spin.
