How to Throw a Tri Boomerang
Tri-blade or tri-wing boomerangs have three wings, or "foils," radiating out from a center. These are considered entry- or beginner-level boomerangs. When you throw a tri boomerang, wind flows over the foils. This causes the boomerang to rotate out and slightly back to the thrower. Benefits of starting to learn about boomerangs with a tri boomerang is its simple throwing technique and gentle return. Once you learn the snap and release with the tri boomerang, progress up to the more difficult two-blade boomerang.

1
Grip one wing of the tri boomerang in your dominant throwing hand. Hold the boomerang parallel to your body.
-
2
Lift your arm holding the boomerang up and over your head and slightly behind your shoulder.
-
3
Thrust the tri boomerang forward and then "snap" your wrist downward toward the ground. Release your boomerang as your arm moves to chest level.
-
4
Watch as the tri boomerang heads down slightly toward the ground and then back up. It will begin to curve slightly back around. Move toward the tri boomerang, and try to catch it as it curves back.
