How to Place a Burton Stomp Pad

Snowboarding has become a winter lifestyle choice for many individuals. As the snowboards have evolved over the years, so have the accessories. Stomp pads are implemented when you are leaving a chair lift with your back foot out of the binding. You place your foot on this pad to keep your foot from slipping around as you navigate from the chair lift to the top of the slope where you will put your foot into the rear binding. Proper placement is essential to get the most out of your stomp pad.

Instructions

  1. Install Your Stomp Pad

    • 1

Place your snowboard on a flat surface. The floor will work well for this. You must do this indoors so the glue will dry properly.

    • 2

Clean between your bindings with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. You want to remove any dirt or reside on the surface. Allow the surface to dry.

    • 3

Grab your snowboard boot. Place it between the two bindings, right in front of your back binding. Use a permanent marker and make a mark under the center of your boot.

    • 4

Pull the plastic or paper covering off the bottom of your Burton stomp pad. This will expose the glue residue that will keep it in place. Position the stomp pad on the mark you made. You want this in front of your back binding but it shouldn't be covering any of the binding itself. Press down firmly on the stomp pad, making sure you press any air bubbles out from under the pad.

    • 5

Place something heavy on the pad, like a stack of books. Leave them there for up to 24 hours to get a firm seal on the stomp pad.
