Instructions

    • 1

Purchase Nike+ shoes, Nike+ sensor kit, and an iPod Nano, if you don't yet own them. These can be purchased from designated retailers. To find the store closest to you, use the store locator link on the Nike+ homepage.

    • 2

Download and install on your computer the latest iTunes and iPod software from Apple.com. If a previous version is already installed, run the updater by navigating to "Help," then "check for updates."

    • 3

Place the orange sensor into the hole in the bottom of the Nike shoe with the sleep button facing down. Plug the white sensor into the bottom of your iPod Nano.

    • 4

Turn on the iPod Nano and wait for it to sync with the shoe sensor. If it doesn't automatically sync, move the shoe with the sensor around until the iPod recognizes it.

    • 5

Scroll through the iPod Nano menu and select "Nike+iPod." Choose the workout you would like to do for that session. Once a workout is chosen, music options will be listed. Select a playlist or album to listen to. Press the center button to begin.

    • 6

Begin running. To pause the workout, press the "Pause" button. To hear the current workout stats, press the "center" button one time. To stop a session, press the "Pause" button, then scroll down the menu to "Stop session."

    • 7

Connect the iPod Nano to your computer when finished with the workout. You will automatically be prompted to enter your username and password, or to create an account if it's your first time syncing. When finished, your workout will automatically be uploaded to your Nike Plus account. Log in at anytime to view the information.
