How to Print Up Basketball Jerseys

A basketball jersey serves several purposes other than merely clothing the athletes. Jerseys allow players, coaches, and fans to identify different players as they move throughout the fast-paced game. Jerseys also inspire team unity and show off a team's unique style. Printing jerseys for a basketball team is not a difficult process, as printing companies can give advice and help in the design process. It is possible to print basketball jerseys through local screen-printing stores or through online companies.

Instructions

    • 1

Sketch a design for the jerseys that includes the team name and/or mascot. Some jerseys may include an image on the front, while other teams prefer to use only text. The back of the jersey should include the player's number and, in some cases, her last name.

    • 2

Research garment printing companies in your local area or online shops that print jerseys for sports teams. Whether you are online or in the store, peruse the type of jersey you want to buy in regard to the color, material, and cut of the garment.

    • 3

Meet with staff if you are using a local printing store and discuss the design. It is possible that the store has its own design team that can create an image based on your original sketch from Step 1. However, if you prefer to use an image that you yourself create, it might also be possible to send a digital image of the design to the company so that they can then print it onto the jerseys. If you prefer this method, ask the staff what type of image file and resolution they require. You can then create the design on PowerPoint or Indesign and email it to the printing company. This method also works if you are using an online company to print your jerseys.

    • 4

Provide the printing company with an accurate list of player's names and corresponding jersey numbers and sizes. It is crucial that this information is accurate so you do not have any sizing or name mistakes.

    • 5

Place an order with the company once you are absolutely sure they have received all the information they need and that the information is accurate. The company must have the name/number/size list and both the back and front design images. The company must also know the specific type of jersey you want to have printed on in regard to brand, material, and color.
