Cone Adjustment
-
1
Loosen the lock ring on the cone on the left side of the CycleOps trainer. The lock ring is triangular in shape. The lock ring allows for adjustment of the left side cone.
-
2
Fit the left side of the bicycle's rear axle into CycleOps trainer left side axle cone.
-
3
Attempt to close the quick release handle on the right side of the CycleOps trainer. If the release fails to close, the left side cone requires adjustment.
-
4
Thread the left side cone in or out, as needed, until the quick release handle is able to close.
-
5
Tighten the lock ring to finalize the adjustment.
Resistance Adjustment
-
6
Determine whether the particular model of CycleOps trainer has a resistance knob or resistance cam lever. Both designs are located on the back of the trainer behind the bicycle's rear tire.
-
7
Turn the knob clockwise until the resistance unit just touches the tire. For cam lever designs, open the cam lever and turn the lever clockwise until the resistance unit touches the bicycle tire. Close the cam lever.
-
8
Rotate the resistance knob two to two and an half rotations further. The cam lever requires no further adjustment at this point.
-
9
Pedal the bicycle to test the adjustment. If the tire slides against the resistance unit tighten the knob or cam as needed.
