Instructions for a Minoura MAG-850

Riding a bicycle can be a great way to stay fit or compete against other riders in races. The best way to get faster and gain more endurance while riding your bike is to practice by riding for an extended period of time each day. The Minoura MAG-850 is a special bike training tool that lets you turn your bike into a stationary machine, letting you get the practice you need without leaving the comfort of your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the couplings for the rear wheel of your bike by turning the hub handle and the hub bolt counterclockwise until they come off the bicycle. Grab the main frame with one hand and pull it up so that it is as vertical as possible.

    • 2

Lower the main frame and place it over the coupling holes. Insert the quick-release lever into the opening on the left side of the rear wheel coupling. Turn the lever counterclockwise to adjust the angle of the clamps for the wheel until it is level. Turn the hub handle in a clockwise motion until it locks the clamps into place.

    • 3

Slowly lower the bicycle into the rear drive roller. Do not drop the wheel down, as it could damage the equipment. Ensure that the bike tire is centered on the drive roller and that the edges of the tire do not touch the plastic edges of the drive roller.

    • 4

Place the front roller pad for the front wheel of the bicycle in front of the Manoura unit. Gently pick up the front of the bicycle and place the front wheel onto the roller. Do not lift too high or you could damage the Minoura unit or your bicycle.

    • 5

Sit on your bicycle and begin to pedal slowly. The wheels of the bicycle should move freely but you should stay stationary. If the wheels do not move or if the bicycle begins to free itself, get off the bicycle and repeat the above steps to secure the bicycle properly.
