How to Wrap Hands for Boxing Gloves
Instructions
-
-
1
Thread your thumb through the loop that is on one end of the hand wrap.
-
2
Check to make sure the wrap is properly set up. Wraps usually come with a guide printed one them. Ringside, for example, prints "This Side Inside." This will help you to make sure the velcro hook-and-loop closure at the end is on the outside.
-
3
Wrap the wrist two or three times.
-
4
Wrap across the top of the hand on a diagonal line, from the base of the thumb to the outside of the little finger's knuckle.
-
5
Wrap around the knuckles once.
-
6
Bind the wrapping between the fingers. This is done by wrapping under the hand, along the palm on the same little finger to the base of the thumb line. Bring the wrap over to the top of the hand, and this time wrap it on a line that draws it between the little finger and the third finger. Repeat for the other two spaces between the fingers.
-
7
Tie off the finger binding by repeating Steps 4 and 5.
-
8
Draw the wrap under the hand and back to the wrist. Tie it off by wrapping whatever remains around the wrist and then close it with the Velcro.
