TaylorMade FCT Instructions

TaylorMade Golf designed its R9 and R11 clubs with flight control technology (FCT), which allows golfers to alter the loft, lie and face angle of the club head. This feature creates four different shot trajectories for the same club. You can change the face angle to an open, closed or neutral position to produce a fade or draw, or compensate for a natural hook or slice. A change in the loft angle produces a high or low ball flight and an altered lie angle (angle at which the club head lies flat on the ground) will suit golfers of different heights.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the metallic sleeve covering the hosel joint of the club. This joint is at the tip of the shaft, linking the shaft and the club head together.

    • 2

Twist the metallic sleeve counterclockwise to loosen it.

    • 3

Use your hand to manipulate the form of the club head. An open face will promote a fade or compensate for a natural hook, while a closed face will produce a draw or counteract a natural slice. Force in a swing dictates a low or high trajectory, so weaker golfers should employ more loft to the club head. Taller golfers will need a more upright lie angle and shorter golfers will need a flatter one.

    • 4

Tighten the metallic sleeve by twisting it clockwise, once you've made all your desired changes.

    • 5

Make sure the sleeve is completely tightened before swinging.
