How to Tape a Hockey Stick Grip Like the Pros
Some people simply tape a hockey stick grip by wrapping the top of their hockey stick with grip tape. While this method works, it is not ideal for when you need to grip your hockey stick while wearing thick hockey gloves. Give yourself added grip by adding a layer of tape rope under the grip tape.
Things You'll Need

Instructions

-
1
Unroll a length of grip tape that stretches roughly from eye level to the floor. Do not cut the tape from the roll.
-
2
Holding the top of the length of tape and letting the tape roll dangle near the floor, have someone else begin to twist the tape roll so the piece of tape begins to twist into a string-like shape.
-
3
Once the piece of tape is twisted up like a piece of string, cut the piece of grip tape from the roll.
-
4
Wrap your grip tape string down the entire length of your hockey stick grip and cut off any slack.
-
5
Use a fresh piece of grip tape to cover over the grip tape string. The extra texture of the underlying grip tape string will make your hockey stick easier to hang on to.
