  1. University of North Dakota Summer Hockey School

    • The University of North Dakota hockey program offers five week-long hockey camps for campers at a range of age and skill levels. Led by the University of North Dakota coaching staff, the camps range from a team camp, which allows hockey teams to build their skills together, to a specialty camp that focuses on defense, goal scoring and goal tending. Campers must be at least 9 years old, and they can choose to be day campers or stay overnight in one of the campus residence halls. Campers must provide their own hockey equipment, and they earn a UND hockey jersey along with a camp report card on their last day of camp.

    Ultimate Hockey Preseason Hockey Training Program

    • A partnership between the Grand Forks Park District and the Center Court Fitness Club, the Ultimate Hockey Preseason Hockey Training Program improves campers' hockey skills. Separated into three age groups---squirts, pee wee and bantam---the camps are eight-week sessions that accept only 30 campers, which allows for personalized attention. Each session includes both off-ice and on-ice training. Led by hockey trainer Chris Langei, the sessions focus on off-ice skills like agility, balance, strength, conditioning and flexibility. The on-ice portion of each camp session focuses on skating, stick handling and shooting and passing.

    The Hockey Academy

    • The Hockey Academy offers a number of summer camps for boys and girls at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Camps focus on strength and conditioning to improve players' hockey skills. For example, the strength camp for pee wee boys and 12 and under girls takes place three days a week, and campers focus on "sport-specific power movements" that prepare the campers for on-ice training and preseason practice. Campers can move on to more advanced hockey strength camps from there. There are similar camps available for high school boys and girls as well. In addition, The Hockey Academy offers on-ice training programs for individuals and teams, where they participate in development drills to improve their shooting and puck handling.
