1
Wipe the lacrosse stick shaft clean with a microfiber cloth. Avoid using chemical solvents to remove dirt or stains to prevent the tape from properly adhering.
-
2
Unroll 3 inches of tennis grip tape without tearing it from the roll. Wrap the tape two to three times around the base of the shaft. Continue rolling 12 inches upwards in a wide spiral-like fashion so 1/2-inch slivers of the fiberglass shaft are visible.
-
3
Roll back down in an identical spiral-like fashion so each wrap covers the exposed 1/2-inch slivers of fiberglass. The double wrapping generates a lattice-like technique to increase the grip quality. Wrap the tape two to three additional times at the base of the shaft. Tear the roll from the wrap.
-
4
Move up to the top of the shaft -- where the base of the lacrosse stick head and the shaft meet. Wrap the tape two to three times around the shaft. Continue rolling downward 12 to 15 inches and back upwards to create an identical lattice-like wrapping effect.
-
5
Wrap the tape two to three additional times at the base of the shaft. Tear the roll from the wrap.
-
6
Rub a paraffin wax bar over the surface of the tape. Coat the lower and upper sections of tape with a thin layer of wax.
-
7
Turn a hairdryer on high. Position the head of the hairdryer three to six inches away from the surface of the shaft. Move the hairdryer back and forth with even and consistent motions to mildly melt the wax into the tape. The wax covering provides for the final touch of an optimum grip.
