How to String a Mesh Pocket

Stringing a lacrosse stick with a mesh pocket will give an athlete's game a more versatile aspect. Mesh netting only has a few areas that will need to be adjusted over time, unlike more traditional pockets that will need to be adjusted after almost every use. Mesh pockets are also easier to string and maintain. Getting the stringing to fit your game exactly will take some time, but after learning the basics of stringing, you will be able to quickly diagnose problems with stick and how to fix them.

Instructions

    • 1

Take the mesh pocket out of the kit and lay it across the head of the stick.

    • 2

Fold over the top two rows of mesh on the top of the head.

    • 3

Tie a knot on the end of the string and begin to string the shortest piece of string that came in your kit through the top. Take the string and wind it through the mesh and the plastic on the top until you reach the other side. Do the same thing coming back to the original starting point.

    • 4

Sting the sidewalls of the stick using the other provided strings in the kit. These strings should be the same length and end with the same amount of string after finishing the sidewall. Make sure it is taunt the entire way down the head.

    • 5

Tie up the bottom of the stick using the extra string from the sidewalls. You may choose to cut off the extra mesh or just fold it up and tie it in.

    • 6

Add the shooting strings with the last provided strings in the kit. These strings will either be hockey laces or thinner shooting strings. You may also elect to use the sidewall strings at the top.
