1
Visit the Amateur Softball Association website (see Resources). Although it clearly states on their site that all ASA registrations on done on the local level and not through the national organization, the site does provide a way to search for local associations in your area. You'll also find information about obtaining a copy of the Official Rules for Softball and national tournament details.
-
2
Go to the local contacts page on the ASA website. Here you will find a search engine which will guide you to the local association including contact information of who you need to contact in your area.
-
3
Search for a local office by name. There are two search box choices with the first being a pull-down menu listing the various local associations by name. Some of these are by state, but in bigger states where there's more than one office, it's broken down further. For example, California has three office listed which are separated by region (northern, central and southern) as well as others listed by city, such as Oakland.
-
4
Try searching by zip code. If the state in which you reside has more than one office available, try searching for the local office by using the right hand box which allows you to enter a zip code.
-
5
Go to the local association's website. When the contact information is pulled up for the correct group in your area, you'll find that many have their own websites. You can use the link provided to go to the local site which may offer more information about how to register your team. For example, the Oklahoma ASA has a link directly on their site titled "Register" which has an online form to fill out, listed amounts due for registration and mailing address for both the form and payment.
-
6
Contact the proper person for more information. If you don't find a section on the local association's website that explains how to register your softball team with the ASA, then see who the site recommends you contact for further information. If you're unsure who to contact after looking through their site or if there isn't a local website available, then contact the appropriate person that's listed on the ASA website. Generally, the information available on the ASA site includes the person's name, phone number, mailing address and email address.
-
7
Fill out the necessary paperwork and pay any fees applicable for registering your team with the Amateur Softball Association.
