1
Find your foot length. Wear athletic socks and use a pencil to trace the outline of your foot onto a piece of paper. Measure the distance between the two longest points on the outline you traced. Subtract that measurement by 1/5" (5 mm) to find your foot length.
-
2
Convert foot length to shoe size. Use your shoe size chart to convert your foot length to American shoe sizes, which is the measurement New Balance uses. A woman with a 9 1/2" foot will wear a size 8; a man with the same size foot will wear a size 6 1/2.

3
Determine your foot width. Measure the distance between the two widest parts of the outline of your foot. Subtract 1/5" (5 mm) from this number. Consult a size chart to convert this to a width letter (e.g., A, B, C). The standard women's width is B; the standard men's width is D.

Make sure the shoes feel right when they arrive. Check to see that you can wiggle your toes when you wear them and that your heels don't slip out. The shoes should feel comfortable and shouldn't make your feet hurt or cramp up when you run in them. If they don't feel right, return them immediately and order a new size.
