Instructions

Dye the tank. If the tank you intend to customize is white, dress it up with some color. Use standard fabric dye to dye the tank all one color, selecting a team hue, or add rubber bands to give the piece a tie-dyed look.

Add a nickname. Attach iron-on letters to the back of the shirt to customize it with your nickname. Position your letters and press them into place following package instructions to complete this transformation.

    • 3

Allow friends to sign the tank. If other friends join you in your love of the team, allow them to leave their marks on the tank. Using a permanent marker or fabric marker, have them sign their names on the tank, filling it with signatures.

Stitch a patch onto the tank. Purchase a patch reflective of the football team you support and add it to the tank. Even if the patch has iron-on backing, stitching it into place is a wise choice as the patch may not adhere as well as you would like, particularly if the tank is ribbed.

Add edging. Use ribbon containing your team's colors or logo to edge the tank. Pin this ribbon into place along the bottom of your tank or around the arm holes and hand or machine sew it onto the garment, finishing your look.
