How to Assemble a Nordic Track Tread Climber

Nordic Track manufactures tread climber machines that it calls Freestriders. The devices are similar to the stair climbers that you see in gyms, although not as complicated. They do have multiple resistance levels though, and many have a user defined variable stride. The machine's handrails, wiring, accessory tray and console have to be setup because the machine is shipped from the factory unassembled. You will need two people for a couple of the steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Tie the lower end of a wire tie to the end of the wire harness and pull the other end of the wire tie up out of the upright. Then untie and throw away the ties. The wiring is for connecting the console, and the upright is the part that connects the handlebars to the wheel assembly.

    • 2

Attach the upright to the frame with the included hardware and attach the shield cap with the screws. The shield cap covers the join between upright and wheel assembly. Press the accessory tray into the shield cap so it snaps in place. Assemble the handrails. The right and left hand rails are labeled as such, and they slide onto the upright. They are then fixed into place with screws and washers.

Have your buddy lift the back of the frame upwards and attach the bottom of each handrail to the frame with a screw. Then lower the frame.

    • 4

Hold the console adjacent to the upright and have your buddy connect the console to the wires that you installed in the first step. Then attach the console to the upright with four screws. Attach the front and rear shields around the console assemblage. The shields act as covers for the wiring -- they attach with screws.

Plug the AC adapter into the jack on the front of the Freestrider and then plug the power supply into the wall.
