How to Oil a PowerTread Nordic Track

The PowerTread is an older series of treadmills produced by NordicTrack, which was founded in Minnesota during the 1970s. The treadmill features a walking belt that requires lubrication every six months to one year, depending upon the machine's level of use. The entire process of lubricating your NordicTrack PowerTread will take only minutes and all that is required is an Allen wrench and some lubricant, which is available at most sporting goods stores.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the NordicTrack Powertread from the wall and remove the safety key, which is a plastic, square magnetic key attached to the machine's console.

    • 2

Insert an Allen wrench into the left rear roller adjustment bolt 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. Remove the Allen wrench and turn the right roller adjust bolt 1/4 turn counter-clockwise as well.

    • 3

Lift the belt off the deck and squeeze 1/2 of the silicone lube container onto length of left side of the underside of the belt.

    • 4

Move to the right side and cover that side of the belt with the remaining contents of the silicone lube container.

    • 5

Set the belt onto the deck and turn the left and right rear roller adjustment bolts 1/4 turn clockwise to return the belt to its original position.

    • 6

Plug in the machine, insert the safety key and allow the treadmill to run at 2 to 3 miles-per-hour for 5 to 10 minutes. This will evenly spread the lube over the NordicTrack PowerTread's belt.
