How to Properly Track a Conveyor Belt

Examine the belt and figure out which way it needs to be moved to get it centered. For example, if it appears that the belt is moving too far to the right, then it should be adjusted to the left until it is on track.

Look for the tracking roller at either end of the belt. Place an open ended wrench around the lock nuts and loosen, to adjust the pulleys left or right.

Firmly nudge the tracking roller away from you if the belt is tracking to the right. Use the open end wrench to on the jack bolts on the roller to move the roller out. Bring the tracking roller toward you by tightening the jack bolts with the wrench.

Turn on the power to the conveyor. While it is operating, place your hand on the top of the belt and firmly push down with your palm. Continue doing this until the belt is able to operate by itself. If necessary, adjust the rollers again to get the belt centered.
