Pocono and Eastern Mountains

Several popular trails wind through the Pocono and Delaware areas. Among them are the Lackawanna Forest Thornhurst Trail; the Haldeman and Greenland trails in Weiser Forest, Delaware County; the Dixon Miller Recreation Area and Snow Hill trails in the Monroe County section of the Delaware Forest; the Pike County section of the Delaware Forest, which offers trails in state forest lands, the Promised Land and Edgemere and Pecks Pond trails; and the Port Clinton Trail in Weiser Forest in Schuylkill County.
North-Central Mountains

Clearfield County's S.B. Elliot and Parker Dam state parks have snowmobile trails, and the Moshannon State Forest, which straddles Clearfield and neighboring Centre County, also has several snowmobile trails. Clinton County has the Two Mile Run, Cooks Run Division, Panther, Hyner Mountain and Beech Creek trails in the Sproul Forest. The Tiadaghton Forest in western Lycoming County has the Cloudy Pike and Little Pine State Park trails.
The Elk State Forest trails run through Cameron, Elk and Potter counties. Potter County also has the North Central Mountain trails, which run into Tioga County. Snowmobilers are drawn to the Loyalsock State Forest and Worlds End State Park trails on Armenia Mountain in Tioga County and the Black Moshannon Trail in Centre County.
Central and South-Central Mountains

The Michaux Forest in Adams and Cumberland counties has several snowmobile trails. The Martin Hill Trail in Bedford, Broad Mountain Trail in Franklin and Sidelong Hill Trail in Fulton County are all part of the Buchanan State Forest.
The sprawling Bald Eagle Forest trails stretch through Snyder, Mifflin, Union and Centre counties. Seven Mountains and Trough Creek trails in Huntingdon, Babcock Trail in Somerset and several trails through the Tuscarora Forest in Perry County also offer good snowmobiling.
Laurel Highlands

Numerous sections of trail stretch throughout the Forbes Forest, commonly split into the northern and southern Laurel Highlands. The trails go through Westmoreland, Somerset and Fayette counties.
National Forest

Though they are not administered by the DCNR, the Allegheny National Forest trails are the longest snowmobile accessible trails in Pennsylvania. More than 300 miles wind through Warren, Forest, McKean and Elk counties. Parking for snowmobile trailers is available at Longhouse Trailhead, Kinzua Point Information Center, Rocky Gap Trail Head and Timberline Trailhead and on Route 6 west of Kane.
