How to Perform the German Suplex in Wrestling
Instructions
-
-
1
Stand directly behind your opponent, facing his back. Wrap both arms around his waist and bring him to you, so your belly and his back touch.
-
2
Lift your opponent off his feet and fall backward. This will send the opponent to the mat on his shoulders and upper back.
-
3
Bridge your legs and back while lifting your opponent and throwing him backwards. This generates leverage and reduces the impact on your own body when you fall backward.
-
4
Keep your arms locked around him and roll over sideways until he is lying face down on the mat. While still holding on, get back up on your feet. You can now repeat the process for another suplex.
-
5
Release your arms while delivering the suplex only when you're sure it has weakened your opponent enough, allowing you to switch to your next move. Many wrestlers (like Angle) try for three straight suplexes before releasing.
