How to perform WWE superstar RVD's 5-Star Frogsplash

World Wrestling Entertainment has gone through many highfliers during its long history--such as Superfly Jimmy Snuka and Jeff Hardy--but one of the WWE’s original high-flying innovators was former WWE champion Rob Van Dam. One of his key highflying moves was his finisher, the 5-star Frog Splash, and with a little work you, too, can perform this move.

Instructions

    • 1

To start the move you need to knock your opponent to the mat with their face up.

    • 2

Perform a drop kick or a clothesline to easily knock your opponent down.

    • 3

Check out their ring position as they lay on the mat and find the farthest corner of the ring.

    • 4

Run to the corner of the ring and climb up to the top turnbuckle.

    • 5

Instead of climbing you can also grab onto the ropes surrounding the turnbuckle and pull yourself up in a leap to the top rope. This has been done by RVD and other superstars like Rey Mysterio.

    • 6

Once you are on top of the ring post, crouch down so you can get the most leverage when you are jumping.

    • 7

Leap off of the ring post and there are a couple of things you need to do when you are in the air.

    • 8

First, make sure that you are jumping as far and as accurate as you can. Practice this move on large mats before actually performing it yourself.

    • 9

RVD does something that most wrestlers do not--turning his body in mid-air. You need to turn your body so that you will land across their mid-section and not flat over them like you are laying on them.

    • 10

When you land on the opponent, bounce back immediately and hold your stomach in pain.

    • 11

Crawl to your opponent and attempt another move, or go for the pin fall.

    • 12

This move can also be performed from other things then the turnbuckle like a steel cage, elimination chamber, ladder or anything else that pits RVD high into the air.
