How to Perform Bret Hart's Sharpshooter
Instructions
-
The Knock Down
-
1
Knock your opponent down to the mat because the move is executed by having your opponent lay face up on the mat.
-
2
Perform a clothesline or a dropkick to knock your opponent to the mat.
-
3
Grab both of his legs out from underneath him so that his back will slam into the mat if you cannot get your opponent down, or you want to surprise them with the move,
-
4
Perform the knockdown towards the middle of the ring so that your opponent cannot escape the sharpshooter by grabbing the ropes.
-
5
Pick up both of your opponent’s legs and hold them in the air.
-
6
Take your right leg and curl it around your opponent’s right leg.
The Twist
-
7
Use your hands to twist your opponent’s body around with their legs as you are curling your leg around theirs.Your body will turn around also so that you two are both facing away from each other.
-
8
Pick up their other leg and curve them underneath your left arm.
-
9
Lower your body so you put pressure on his back and almost sit on him if you have to.
-
10
Continuously apply pressure by curling the legs and pressing down their back.
-
11
You may have to fight them off if they try to maneuver towards the ropes. The easiest way to do this is by standing up just a little bit and dragging them, but you must crouch back down quickly so the pressure is still applied.
-
12
Hold the move in until your opponent taps out, or in some cases passes out. This is your best chance of winning, but if you want to release the hold then their back and legs will be weakened.
